Our Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon is a wonderful expression of the classic Bordeaux varietal, and comes from our own estate vineyards in the heart of Rutherford, comprised of thicker and heavier adobe soils with small amounts of gravel which are perfect for growing Cabernet Sauvignon. The ideal growing conditions in the vineyard allow our Bordeaux varietals to reach full maturity on the vine without taking on the green, leafy taste of under-ripe fruit.

Tasting Notes

Our Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon is a wonderful expression of the classic Bordeaux varietal. The nose exudes a medley of cherry, raspberry, cedar, forest floor, lemon and bramble. The full-bodied palate offers rich layers of dark fruits and berry compote, supported by bright acidity carrying it through the long finish. Serve with pork loin with apple reduction for a truly decadent culinary experience.

The Foley Johnson 2021 Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon comes from our own estate vineyards in the heart of Rutherford, comprised of thicker and heavier adobe soils with small amounts of gravel which are perfect for growing Cabernet Sauvignon. The ideal growing conditions in the vineyard allow our Bordeaux varietals to reach full maturity on the vine without taking on the green, leafy taste of under-ripe fruit. After harvest, the grapes were destemmed and underwent a 2-day cold soak in stainless steel tanks. The wine was pumped over daily during fermentation and then pressed and racked to barrel where it completed malolactic fermentation and 18 months of aging.
